A word from the Headmistress:

St Mary’s Calne has an established reputation as one of the top schools for girls in the UK. We continually strive to provide the best possible educational foundation for life, and we are extremely successful in developing young women who become leaders in their chosen fields.

To be a pupil at St Mary’s Calne is an exciting and challenging prospect, and it is a real privilege to see our girls really make the most of their experience here and develop into confident young women. A person who is confident in herself, in her ability and her future and who genuinely believes she can be truly successful, is one who will have a significant effect on her family, her friends, and her community.

The “Making of a Champion” Programme was introduced to us by a parent of a girl who had successfully engaged with it, and we have been very impressed by how it can build on the work we already do with the girls to help them increase in self-confidence, and become more organised, focused and effective in their daily activities.

I am delighted that St Mary’s Calne has been selected as the Flagship Pioneer for the introduction of this groundbreaking programme to the UK. It dovetails neatly with our vision for the future and we are looking forward with positive anticipation to some wonderful results from those girls who participate in the pilot programme.

“I believe in the importance of understanding the principles for success, to identify one’s values and understand their significance in every area of life. It will provide a solid grounding and can help them (the girls) design and implement their Individual Success Plans”.
